Finally getting caught up with some blog posting… One of the weddings that I photographed a few months ago was the wedding for Sarika and Neil. Their wedding was unique in that it took place during hurricane Ike that had slammed the Texas coast. Well as luck would have it, Ike made landfall and then made a bee line for Tyler where the wedding was taking place. We ended up photographing the Baraat and majority of the wedding ceremony while the hurricane was in full force outside. Everyone pulled together and there were some amazing vendors here as well. The event took place at the Cascades golf course and country club.
They pulled out all the stops to make sure Sarika and Neil’s wedding was a success and dealing with a hurricane while putting on a huge reception was no easy task, altough their staff was highly professional and made everyone’s job a breeze. For the first time I was also working with Mandap Creations of Houston and I have to just say one thing… WOW!! Their decorations were exquisite and they are an absolute pleasure to work with. We also had Shezad with Hakim son providing the videography and as always Shezad and AJ were awesome to work with.
Sarika and Neil were freakin awesome, they took it all in stride, the hurricane hit right in the middle of the ceremony, the power goes out, these two never stopped smiling and it really showed. Their reception was masterfully decorated again by Mandap Creations and it was really an amazing setup. These two partied late into the night and I had a great time with them.
